The procedures for how to deal with the issue of music copyrights differ by country.

For Peatix Live events held in Japan

There are two major music copyright societies in Japan: JASRAC and NexTone. If you are going to use the music administered by these copyright societies in your Peatix Live event, Peatix will go through all the necessary procedures to submit usage applications and license fees.

You will first have to check whether the music you are planning to use is copyrighted or not by searching on the databases managed by JASRAC and NexTone.

If there will be copyrighted music in your event, you will be required to complete and submit the copyright declaration form for the music used in this event no later than 24 hours after the event.

An additional 3% fee will apply to events using copyrighted music managed by music copyright societies. For more information regarding fees, please check Peatix Live Pricing.

For Peatix Live events held in Singapore and Malaysia

You will first have to check whether the music you are planning to use is copyrighted or not. The ways to do this may differ from country to country, but you can generally tell if the music is copyrighted or not by looking at the sheet music, checking with organizations that have catalogs or databases of registered songs and/or searching on the Internet.

If there will be copyrighted music in your event, you will be responsible for obtaining the necessary copyright licenses for the music used in this event.
